Jheronimus Bosch Art Center

a Bossche Bol and a hot chocolate with a side of whipped cream is a perfect way to begin a day out in Den Bosch
After finishing my Bossche Bol and hot chocolate, my coworker and I explored the Jheronimus Bosch Art Center. Totally cool! The artwork inside is a blend of reproductions of the artist's original work, as well as art in a range of media from many other artists, inspired by Bosch' original works.

Fancy a cup of tea, ma'am?

reminds me of some of the stuff from Studio Ghibli

This scene reminds of me of some of the stuff in the Dark Crystal

The owl in the hat reminds me of some of the stuff a close friend from college used to draw.

Fun evening feeding bread to the goats at the petting zoo in our vacation oasis.

Fishing pond, with thatched-roof barn and small pastures in the background.  The paddock to the right of the barn houses two Shetland ponies. A small barnyard in front has a couple of pot-bellied pigs. The goats have the paddock to the left, sharing it with a flock of rather chubby hens and their rooster.

Belated update:
Second weekend in NL, went to Amsterdam. Early afternoon was spent in my old neighborhood, wandering the Saturday market at the Noorderkerk, and relaxing at a cafe. The rest of the weekend was spent with a close friend of the family who moved to Amsterdam not too long ago. Assisted in chocolate-birthday-cake baking, had fantastic pizza for dinner. Dessert was shared with her friends, in celebration of her birthday: Chocolate cake and bubbly. It was great! Ended up  sharing my "bed" with two snuggly kitties which made it a fantastic night sleeping on the couch. Brunch the following morning at a nearby cafe was nice, then I did a tiny bit of touristy-shopping on my way to the train station. Then a quiet ride "home" and a soak in a hot bubble bath.

What a great weekend!

Koffie Verkeerd at a cafe at the edge of the Noordermarkt. Had a blast watching people coming and going from the market, relaxing while writing letters to friends in the US.

Hemingway knows the importance of earnestly watching pigeons from the window.

Chairman Miauw knows he's the dictator of the couch.
